Sephora VIB Sale Wishlist || HWong’s Holidays 2016

As the holiday collections start emerging from the depths of the places they’re created, I’ve already become overwhelmed by all the collections. With the Sephora VIB Rouge currently happening and the VIB sale starting soon, I thought I would share with you products that I’m considering on picking up or would recommend trying out.

While some products are already sold out online, definitely call or check in store because chances are, they mostly have it in stock.

While, I’m not a huge foundation ‘on-the-daily’ type of person, these are the ones that I’m really tempted in trying right now. I’ve heard so many good things about all of them and the Marc Jacobs and Clinique ones only require a few dots around the face to cover everything. They’re full coverage and honestly, soooo pretty to look at.

I’ve become a huge addict to trying out concealers this past year. While the Too Faced one is good on a daily use, it provides light coverage. I really like how the Kat Von D one doesn’t crease and gives you medium but buildable coverage, while the shades are a bit off, I definitely recommend swatching this in stores. The Kevyn Aucoin one is something I’ve been looking at for a while. I want to try more of their products but they’re so pricey, I never know what I should splurge on, but this definitely looks like something that would last a while for me.

Powders are something that I still yet to have figure out. While, I’ve got the basic idea of what they do and how to use them, I haven’t found the perfect holy grail one for me yet. As I continue to look for my HG, the Kat Von D one has been catching my eye, it’s got great reviews and what’s not to love about Kat Von D products? The Guerlain and Givenchy ones have been on my mind ever since I started getting into makeup. I still can’t justify the price but maybe with this sale, I might just cave. The Météorites powder pearls is just so amusing because they’re literally little powder balls, I have no idea how this works out but nonetheless, it’s intriguing. The Givenchy powder is such a luxury item that I would love to throw into my flatlay photos. It consists of 4 different colours that blend really well together and just look so satisfying.

Eyeshadow Palettes

The Modern Renaissance palette has been my go-to all year long (well since I got it back in June), regardless, it’s been selling out like crazy. I’m so happy it’s a permanent staple in the ABH family, otherwise I’d probably be stocking up on 5 palettes. The Too Faced Chocolate Bar is one of the most talked about palettes, and I have yet to own it. There’s always been something new being released and holding me back from purchasing this palette, but if it’s as good as the Sweet Peach is, then I definitely need to get my hands on this. Ah yes, the Buxom customizable palette. I talked about this a few posts earlier and upon helping my friend Taryn figure out what shades to get, got me realizing that this is the greatest gift. There’s so many shades to choose from and they’re all such good quality, so why not have some fun and create your own palette this holiday season?

All these products are calling my name. The Make Up For Ever highlighter is the same highlighter that was in the duo, but it’s not on its own and is literally great. While the Natasha Denona one seems like it’s always sold out, luckily, it’s in stock over at Beautylish. Ever since falling in love with the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder in medium, I’ve wanted to try the light shade when it launched at Sephora. Unfortunately, it’s sold out, so maybe next time for me. The Marc Jacobs blushes are so pretty, I almost don’t want to get it because I’ll be too paranoid that I’ll ruin it by using it. But they’re so nicely pigmented and there’s such a variety to choose from. The NARS Blush Duo in Hot Sand/Laguna is something I’ve been wanting ever since NARS launched their Hot Sand collection on their site. While, I was not down to pay their $17 shipping fee, I’m so happy I was able to pick it up at Sephora. While on the search for a bronzer that isn’t Laguna and trying to steer onto a new path of bronzers, I came across this Marc Jacobs one. The bronzer only comes in one shade, but from swatching it, I feel like it’d be suitable for all skin tones.

If you don’t own a Bite lipstick by now, what are you doing with your life?! They’re my favourite things ever, and I think everyone needs to own at least one in their lifetime. The MUFE lipstick formulas are also one of my favourites, they’re super creamy and there is such a wide variety to choose from, you’d definitely find one perfect for you. The Too Faced liquid lipstick is something I didn’t think of until my friend Stephanie showed me a swatch of hers. They’ve changed formulas from when she bought her first tube to her current one. The formulation is so smooth, velvety and pigmented, I made sure to pick up the Sephora 100-point perk for the Too Faced liquid lipstick.

The Dr. Jart+ set is such a good deal for 7 face masks. I haven’t had any trouble with the ones I’ve tried so far and they’ve definitely hydrated my skin to the greatest degree. Another good deal is the Josie Maran duo set, while, they’re not full sized products but the small travel sized ones and a little goes a long way with oils. They also cost the price of one small travel sized, but you get two! I’m definitely going to be picking up two of these for such a good deal! The Caudalie set is a hit or miss for many people, depending on what you’re looking for in skincare. But, I’m super tempted to get this set because you get a full size of the eye cream, which is already more expensive than the set itself.

Here’s the part where I insert the most insane products that I’d love to get or receive but really have no use for, probably, ever in my life.

I posted a review about the MUFE eye pencils during the summer, and I haven’t been able to get them off my mind. They’re so smudge-proof it’s ridiculous. Ever since this collection was released, I’ve been wanting to get it. I barely use eyeliner, which is a big factor as to why I don’t own it, but it’s a really good deal instead of buying them individually, so if you’re one to use colourful eyeliner, then by all means. The Bite collection is also another set that I really don’t need. My lipstick collection is huge as it is, and I don’t need these to add to is, mostly on the fact that, it’s been pointed out to me that I’ll barely ever wear some of the shades. But, nonetheless, it’s a really good deal.

This next item, I do own. I splurged on this and I don’t regret it at all. I posted a review on it about a week ago (?). This Kat Von D set is possibly one of my best purchases, only because I didn’t own any of her palettes and this was a great way to get all of them, PLUS a multi-use carrying case. While, I’m not a fan of double-ended brushes, you could say the set basically came with 4 brushes instead of 2. I will say that they’re super soft, and I may actually carry them around with me. The liquid lipstick set is a really good deal if you’re into lipsticks. I love the liquid lipsticks I have from Kat Von D, and would totally purchase this if I wore bold colours.

The most random item that does not match any of the beauty/skincare related products I’ve listed is this straightener. My CHI is getting fairly old and has its fair share of wear and tear. After trying my friend’s GHD, I’ve always wanted to get one but could never justify the price. But, with this discount, it may just be time to indulge in a new straightener. Also, it doesn’t hurt that its rose gold/copper toned and I’m obviously a sucker for that shade.

Are there any products you plan on picking up this season?

Until next time,
– h.
