The Confession Refillable Lipstick Set || Hourglass

As someone who is the biggest collector for lipstick, I couldn’t not pick this one up when it launched! Ever since Hourglass first launched their Confession Ultra Slim High Intensity refillable lipstick, I’ve been trying to figure out what shade I want to pick up to try out first!

Thanks to the holidays quickly arriving, Hourglass curated a holiday set consisting of the refillable lipstick holder with one shade already in it, along with two different refill cartridge shades. For the price of $66 CAD/$54 USD, I was able to pick up 3 shades that would’ve otherwise cost me $42 CAD/$34 USD for the lipstick and the holder, and an additional $56 CAD ($28 CAD/$22 USD each) for a refill cartridge.

The exclusive shades in the Confession Refillable Lipstick set are, ‘My One Desire,’ ‘True Love Means,’ and ‘You Are My,’ one of the great things about these lipsticks are that the names are printed directly on the tube and also on the bottom, so in case you ever forget what shade you’re wearing. You don’t have to take the cartridge out of the lipstick holder just to figure it out. The holder is pretty heavy adding to its luxurious feel. I love that Hourglass produced a total of 30 shades, you’ll no doubt be able to find the shade you’re looking for. The shades in this set are exclusively new shades from Hourglass.

I love that the lipstick bullets aren’t super big so I don’t have to worry about them going past where my lips are. They glide on effortlessly and have a twist-up packaging. With just one swipe of the product, the pigmentation already shows.

  1. My One Desire, dusty mauve

While, I personally don’t think mauve shades look the best on me, I do think this shade reminds me of Bite’s annual Mauvember lipstick shades. It’s a little more pink than what I’m used to but with a splash of purple.

  2. True Love Meanspink nude

I didn’t end up using a lip liner when I applied this and it shows. The shade is a little lighter than my natural lip outline. This can be easily fixed with a lip liner. I’m a fan of this shade because it’s closer to the nude shades that I’m used to wearing but still a little more pink than usual.

  3. You Are My, medium rose brown

I love this one best. I find that while it still has some Fall vibes to it, in my collection, I consider this one of my darker nudes. I can definitely see myself gravitating towards this one the most out of the three in the set.

The lipsticks aren’t drying and with such a wide shade selection, there’s bound to be the perfect one for everyone. They retail for quite a bit but I can definitely see myself reaching towards them more and more. Especially with the refills, I love that it’ll minimize how much space it would occupy in my makeup collection.

I find that these lipsticks will last me around 4-5 hours, give or take if I’m eating or drinking something. Nevertheless, I can definitely see myself picking up more shades to try out. I did, however, find that the swatches online didn’t really match how they looked or swatched in person, so definitely check them out in stores before ordering them online.

If you’re looking for holiday gifts, I would recommend this one for sure!

Have you tried any of the Hourglass lipsticks? What are your thoughts?

  1. Hi Hillary, I just wanted to say hi here in the comments as I tried to get in touch with you before for a collab but never heard anything back from you. If you’re open to collabs I’d love to hear from you. You’re more than welcome to write directly to me on – even if you’re not interested. All the best xx
