This palette has been out for a few months now but I recently caved and finally picked it up for myself. My first ever eyeshadow palette was the UD Naked 1 Palette and they’ve only expanded the range since then. Each palette consists of different colour palettes and the latest one is mostly amber-hued shades.

Since picking up my Modern Renaissance palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills (you can read my review here), I came to an obsession with the red-orange eyeshadow shades that make my eyes look more tired. With brown eyes, I find it fairly difficult to make your eyes pop, but with the red-orange shades, I liked how it brought a whole new intensity to your eyes and drew viewers towards them.
The palette retails for $66 CAD/$54 USD at Sephora and Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. It can also be purchased at Ulta Beauty in the USA. This is the same price for all the Urban Decay Naked palettes in the collection.

Upon picking up this palette, I’m really happy that Urban Decay has switched up the packaging from the felt cardboard feeling palette that the first Naked palette is housed in to a more hard plastic and stronger casing. As usual, the palette came with a brush and a mirror. The 12 shades within the palette range from light to dark respectively.

With only the first swatch, I was already obsessed. The shades are so pigmented and a few of the shimmer shades actually have the duo-chrome effect which, is super cool and nothing I own in my collection yet. The pigmentation is amazing and so easy to work with. It doesn’t have that buttery feel that the ABH eyeshadows have in the Modern Renaissance palette but they’re not super drying or loose feeling either. I didn’t find there to be much kick up compared to the Modern Renaissance palette.

I think it’s pretty easy to say that this may just be my favourite Urban Decay Naked palette to date, I love how different the shades are and the duo-chrome effect that the shades ‘Lumbre’ and ‘Ember’ provide. While this palette can be compared to my much loved Modern Renaissance, there are still shade differences, I find this palette to steer more towards the ‘orange-brown’ tones, while the ABH palette steers closer towards more pinks and purples.
