Hot Lips 2 Collection || Charlotte Tilbury

In my opinion, there is absolutely no such thing as owning ‘too much lipstick.’ While, every lipstick can be ‘similar,’ they’re all same same but different and I’m 100% completely okay with that. There is some special power within wearing a lipstick that makes me feel like I can take on the world. It gives a sense of confidence and empowerment that I can take on anything the world decides to throw at me that day. And, Charlotte Tilbury has done just that with her new Hot Lips 2 collection.

This collection, just like the first Hot Lips collection is inspired by strong, and fearless icons. With this collection, there are 11 shades named after empowering and rule-breaking icons. Charlotte Tilbury is pledging £1m from sales to Women for Women International, a charity that supports women survivors of war to rebuild their lives after conflict (more about the charity can be found here). There are 5 interchangeable lipstick cases to choose from and lipstick refills are available for purchase to mix and match your lipsticks with their cases. The Hot Lips 2 collection is available in 2 finishes: ‘K.I.S.S.I.N.G,’ a soft finish, and ‘Matte Revolution,’ a matte finish.

There are 5 shades with each finish, along with a hydrating lip conditioner. I really like that Charlotte Tilbury has made these lipsticks refillable with refills available for purchase. It always feel like a waste having to throw out the whole lipstick tube after it’s been used up. This makes it a lot more fun when switching up the shades with the cases as well as being better for the environment. The lipsticks retail for $43 CAD for the full case and shade at Charlotte Tilbury, Sephora and Nordstrom, while the refills retail for $29 CAD at Charlotte Tilbury.

Starting with the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. finish lipsticks, I’ve never owned any of the other lipsticks with this finish but I knew it’d be more of a satin finish than a matte one. The lipstick bullets are all the same shape, so it really comes down to application or memory to remember which finish the shade gives off.

The K.I.S.S.I.N.G finish lipsticks are more on the nude colour range of the collection and are super hydrating. They apply very smoothly onto the lips and give off a great satin finish. I find them to be super pigmented and the shades can relate to other lipsticks shades that Charlotte Tilbury has produced. I think all 5 shades are great for everyday wear and I can see myself switching it up everyday of the week.

The Matte Revolution finish lipsticks are ones that I’m more familiar with when it comes to the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks. One of my favourite lipsticks in my collection is the famous Pillow Talk shade (review on the Pillow Talk collection here). It’s such a great everyday shade for me and applies super smoothly onto the lips without drying them out.

While the K.I.S.S.I.N.G finish lipsticks were more on the nude colour range, the Matte Revolution finish lipsticks are more so on the bold and bright colour range. I didn’t think I’d like Carina’s Star and Viva La Vergara as much as I do, but I think this will be a great entryway for me to try out more bold shades. I hope to work my way up to wearing Red Hot Susan on days out, and not just for special occasions as I usually would save that shade for.

Last but not least, the lip conditioner. I really like that it’s in the refillable case, it adds a sort of luxurious feel to it. The lip conditioner itself is super smooth and easy to apply. It gives a slight gloss to the lips and feels really hydrating throughout the day.

Enigmatic Edward: a hydrating lip conditioner

I’ve personally been carrying around this lip conditioner and it feels like the fanciest lip balm I could possibly own and be applying. There is some sort of feeling that comes with applying a lip conditioner from a lipstick case rather than your typical lip balm tubes.

I feel like this collection is all I’ll ever need in my collection for the rest of my life. However, knowing me, I’ll be picking up more and more lipsticks because I think we can all agree that not all lipsticks are the same! I really like that the lipstick cases are refillable and that money from these sales are going towards a charity to help women survivors of war to help rebuild their lives after conflict.

Have you tried any Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks? What are your thoughts?
